Greetings and welcome to the 3 Nails In My Pocket Blog.
My name is Rob Adelman and my purpose is not to draw attention to myself but rather to Him - Jesus Christ. I've long been meaning to start a blog and in fact set this one up several months ago, but like many things in life it just took me longer than expected (maybe some repentance is in order?) Alas, here it is.
As part of the first post on this blog, I would like take you to 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures." This is the good news of the hope we have that is only found in Jesus Christ. And this "good news" or "gospel" isn't just how a christian gets saved--it is also how they live each and every day of their lives.
To help explain this probably much better than I could, I would like to invite Thabiti Anyabwile (if you can pronounce his name correctly on the first try you major bonus points!) whom my wife and I had the priviledge of hearing him speak at the 2010 Desiring God National Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'd like to say I know him, but all we got to do was shake his hand and a take a photo with him. The key point, though, is that Thabiti does an excellent job of explaining the gospel as captured in this video.
